In this unit of the Curiologists classes, students will environmental studies through experiments, labs, models and journals. The class is designed to teach an appreciation for the local environment and the ecosystems around them. Students learn about water and soil, as well as the flora and fauna of the local environment. Labs include water testing, sources of energy, pollution and its effects, habitats, effects of climate change and marine life and ecosystems. Some units have a take home project.
